Today the author Jonathan Emmett and I are celebrating our book “Ruby Flew Too” reaching the ripe old age of 20 years old!!! Woohoo! This was actually the first picture book that I ever illustrated and it became a lovely series of 3 books about a little yellow duckling.

Ruby has been translated into 8 different languages! And has also been adapted into a stage show by the fabulous Topsy Turvey Theatre! Here they are with their beautiful puppets!

Despite it being 20 years since we made the first Ruby book, Jonathan and I only managed to meet in person last Summer. I think we can safely say that we did it “in our own time!”
These are photos of our day together and Jonathan also brought the Ruby toy that I made him so we could have a photo shoot.
